Be the Leader You Were Born to Be

The OB/GYN residency program that unleashes your potential

In Sinai Hospital’s OB/GYN residency program, our mission is simple: to empower you with the knowledge, skills, and personal attributes you need to be a valued provider, patient advocate, and leader in today’s healthcare system. With our focus on flexibility and personalized learning, Sinai’s OB/GYN residency program prepares you to be competitive in any career move you make, whether its fellowship opportunities, academics, or independent practice. Here are just a few of the reasons why.

A Resident-Focused Program

With no competing fellows in your program, you’ll get more hands-on opportunities and more individualized attention from the beginning – and achieve a higher level of autonomy faster.

Broader Clinical Exposure

Sinai offers a wider continuum of OB/GYN care services in-house, giving you in-depth experience in sub-specialties, including pelvic reconstructive surgery and robotic surgery.

Diverse Patient Population

At both Sinai Hospital and our resident clinic, Sinai Community Care, you’ll have access to a more diverse patient population, including patients who experience chronic health conditions due to social determinants of health.

Flexible Learning Opportunities

Customize your learning with our network of partners, including Johns Hopkins’ Reproductive Infertility & Endocrinology division, as well as global health opportunities.

Holistic Leadership Training

Get a more well-rounded education. Our program includes physician wellness training and encourages you to participate in leadership committees, such as Sinai's Diversity Councils and Employee Resource Groups.

Cutting-Edge Technology

State-of-the-art technologies, such as our laparoscopic simulator, give you the skills and confidence to become a leader.

A Richer Learning Experience

Didactics

Based on the Council for Resident Education in Obstetrics and Gynecology, our didactics use a variety of adult learning styles to meet your needs.

Lectures

Lectures are interactive and protected from clinical duties to better prepare you for service and board exams.

Simulations

Both low-fidelity and high-quality interprofessional simulations are scheduled throughout your academic year.

Mock Orals

As a senior resident, you’ll participate in monthly mock orals to give you an edge in board exam prep.

Board Sign Out and Transitions of Care

You’ll have daily opportunities to improve your patient care, communication skills, and professionalism.

Committees and Grand Rounds

Through committees and grand rounds, you’ll refine your systems-based practice as well as your practice-based learning skills.

Sub-Specialty Learning

Hone your surgical and subspecialty skills with programs like our weekly tumor board or our guided FLS training.

Research

Take part in our monthly Journal Club, as well as share your ideas in quarterly research meetings with our research director and statistician.

Our curriculum and learning format have been thoughtfully designed to fit your career goals and make you an essential leader in today’s healthcare system. Training programs include gynecologic oncology, maternal-fetal medicine, reproductive endocrinology, infertility and urogynecology.

A More Welcoming Culture

It’s awesome that every year I’ve been here, despite the changing of people, the culture stays being a close-knit group of residents both in and out of the hospital.
